LogiSwitch LS118-S is a three-channel mechanical-switch debouncer with host handshake capability in an 8-pin, 150 mil narrow SOIC package. It supplies a normally low output/handshake interface for each switch channel.
The LS118-S ordering code, package, pin functions and operating data are documented in the LogiSwitch LS100 Series IC User's Guide. Verify the latest controlled revision before final design release.
LS118-S conditions three independent normally open mechanical switches. Its LS100-series adaptive debounce logic rejects make and break contact bounce without external timing components. Each NL/HS pin is bidirectional: it reports a switch event and can receive a host acknowledge pulse that ends the active cycle.
Three switch inputs and three corresponding NL/HS interfaces fit in one 8-pin IC.
A host acknowledge pulse can explicitly terminate a serviced switch cycle and avoid release polling.
Internal monitoring accommodates contact bounce without an external RC timing network.
The narrow 150 mil SOIC form reduces board area compared with the PDIP variant.
The electrical-characteristics table specifies a 2.5 V to 5.5 V operating range.
SW0 through SW2 accept normally open switches referenced to VSS.
NL/HS0 through NL/HS2 are normally low output/handshake input pins.
The operating-conditions table lists 4/12/20 microseconds minimum/typical/maximum input-to-output time and a 5 microsecond acknowledge pulse.
The exact LS118-S ordering code denotes an 8-pin narrow SOIC, 150 mil wide. The LCDChip package registry calls this outline 8-SOIC; it is a surface-mount package and must not be confused with LS118-P's 300 mil through-hole PDIP.

The registered local 8-SOIC JPG is present. The illustration is indicative; use manufacturer mechanical dimensions for PCB release.
Pin assignments below follow the LogiSwitch LS100 Series IC User's Guide, LS118 pin-description table.
Positive supply.
Switch input 0.
Switch input 1.
Switch input 2.
Normally low output and handshake input for channel 2.
Normally low output and handshake input for channel 1.
Normally low output and handshake input for channel 0.
Ground and switch common.
Route each normally open switch between its SW input and VSS. Confirm the host's permitted GPIO drive and acknowledgement sequence before connecting an NL/HS pin.

LS118-P is the manufacturer-listed three-channel PDIP member of the same LS118 family, but its through-hole 300 mil footprint differs from the LS118-S surface-mount SOIC. Check board layout and assembly before considering it.
LS18-S is also an 8-SOIC three-channel LogiSwitch debouncer, but it belongs to the LS10 family and lacks the LS100 handshake behavior. Do not substitute it without reviewing GPIO signaling, supply, timing, output polarity and system firmware. Neither comparison is a confirmed drop-in replacement.
LogiSwitch identifies LS118-S as the SOIC version of its three-channel LS100 NoBounce IC with handshake. Its controlled LS100 Series IC User's Guide provides package, pin and electrical information. Confirm purchasing status and the current document revision before qualification.
Condition mechanical pushbuttons before events reach a host processor.
Use the handshake cycle where firmware must explicitly acknowledge an input event.
Reduce false transitions from contact bounce in multi-switch control assemblies.
Implement three switch channels in a narrow surface-mount outline.
Verify the full LS118-S ordering code, package marking, manufacturer documentation and traceability at receipt. Match the 8-SOIC body and pin-1 indication before assembly; request lot and handling records from the actual supplier as needed.
Three independent normally open switch channels, SW0 to SW2.
Both are LS118-family three-channel handshake devices, but S uses an 8-pin SOIC and P uses an 8-pin PDIP; their footprints are not interchangeable.
No. The LS18-S lacks the LS100 handshake interface and needs electrical and firmware review.
The optional acknowledgement pulse can terminate a serviced handshake cycle; consult the manufacturer's timing sequence for the selected operating mode.
This selection summary is not a substitute for the current manufacturer guide. Validate the complete electrical limits, switch topology, host handshake timing, package dimensions and application conditions before committing a design or replacement.
