The CAP200DG-TL is a member of the CapZero™-2 family from Power Integrations. It is an intelligent, high-voltage integrated circuit designed to eliminate power loss in the switching power supply discharge resistors. By blocking current flow through the X-capacitor discharge path when AC is present, and automatically discharging the capacitor when AC is removed, the CAP200DG-TL helps designers achieve near-zero standby power consumption in high-power adapters and industrial supplies.

The CAP200DG-TL addresses a common efficiency drain in AC-DC converters: the safety discharge resistors. The CAP200DG-TL acts as a smart switch that stays open (blocking current) while the system is connected to the grid and closes instantly upon AC disconnection.
