The Analog Devices LTC4331HUFD#TRPBF extends an I2C/SMBus connection over a protected differential link. This H-grade, tape-and-reel order code uses a 20-lead, 4 mm × 5 mm QFN package with an exposed pad.
Function, pinout and limits follow the Analog Devices LTC4331 Rev. A data sheet and the manufacturer's exact-order-code listing. Check the controlled documentation for the final design.
The LTC4331 is a point-to-point I2C slave-device extender compatible with SMBus. A local-mode device and a remote-mode device carry clock, data, alert and a control signal across one twisted-pair differential link. The remote bus can run at a different clock rate from the local bus, subject to the data-sheet timing and clock-stretching requirements.
Extends I2C/SMBus traffic across a differential cable without changing the normal slave-device transaction model.
A/B link pins have ±60 V line-fault protection and an operating common-mode range of ±15 V.
Carries remote ALERT/SMBALERT and a control signal alongside clock and data.
Selectable link rates support different cable lengths and local/remote I2C timing choices.
Supports I2C Fast-mode Plus up to a 1 MHz serial clock when configured within the specified timing limits.
Selectable baud rates can extend the link up to 1200 m under the data-sheet application conditions.
Provides link and ready status, stuck-bus protection, idle detection and an optional low-EMI slew-rate mode.
The H-grade order entry specifies an operating ambient range of −40 °C to +125 °C.
Analog Devices lists LTC4331HUFD#TRPBF as a lead-free, tape-and-reel, 20-lead plastic QFN measuring 4 mm × 5 mm. The exposed center pad is ground and must be soldered to the PCB. The LCDChip package registry names this footprint 20-WFQFN Exposed Pad; use the manufacturer's UFD package drawing for the actual land pattern, pad dimensions and orientation.

The registered package JPG is currently missing and must be supplied and checked before publication.
Pin names and numbers below follow the LTC4331 Rev. A pin-function table for the 20-lead UFD package.
Main and logic supply inputs; bypass to ground as specified.
Enable input and local/remote operating-mode selection.
Open-drain link-status and I2C-ready indications.
Local or remote I2C clock and data interface, requiring external pull-ups.
Unconnected pins and the SMBALERT/interrupt signal.
Three-state internal I2C address-select inputs.
Auxiliary control signal and link/interface timing selectors.
Ground and the low-EMI link slew-rate control input.
Differential link pair and exposed ground pad.
Use the complete pin table, connection guidance and package drawing for board design; do not infer mode from pin names alone.

The manufacturer lists C-, I- and H-grade LTC4331 ordering options as well as bulk and tape-and-reel finishes. They share the 20-lead UFD package family but have different ambient-temperature ratings and shipping suffixes. A different grade or suffix is not an unconditional substitute for LTC4331HUFD#TRPBF. Check the full order code, qualified temperature range, finish, package drawing, bus timing and system requirements before substitution. No unverified internal product link is provided.
Analog Devices identifies LTC4331HUFD#TRPBF in its LTC4331 Rev. A ordering table and product-model list. The data sheet supplies electrical characteristics, pin functions, package description and application guidance for the device family.
Remote I2C/SMBus nodes connected across a noisy plant environment with a properly engineered differential cable.
Distributed control networks where remote I2C access and alert propagation are required.
Check the exact order code, package marking, reel label, lead count and physical dimensions against current Analog Devices documentation. Require traceability appropriate to the intended build. This description does not certify any individual unit or lot.
Yes. One LTC4331 is configured locally and another remotely for the extended I2C network.
The manufacturer's ordering table gives the H version a −40 to +125 °C ambient range in the 20-lead QFN package.
Confirm clock-stretching support and the selected bus timing. The manufacturer strongly recommends a master that fully supports SCL clock stretching.
Review the current LTC4331 data sheet for operating conditions, A/B protection, cable termination, clock-stretching behavior and PCB thermal layout. The local package illustration is missing, so package visual verification is incomplete. Do not use this page in place of the manufacturer's controlled documentation.
