HCS200/P from Microchip Technology is a code-hopping encoder for remote-keyless-entry transmitters in a through-hole 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package.
The blank temperature option is commercial grade. This order code uses the 8-lead plastic DIP, not the SOIC version.
HCS200 produces a 66-bit code-hopping transmission word when a button input is activated. A compatible receiver or decoder and a separate RF circuit are required. Three button inputs allow seven functions. The encoder is intended for unidirectional remote keyless entry and access-control transmitters.
The 32-bit hopping portion changes between properly provisioned transmissions.
Specified for 3.5 V to 13.0 V operation.
S0, S1 and S2 support seven input combinations.
The P suffix identifies an 8-lead plastic DIP with a 300-mil body.
64-bit crypt key and 28-bit serial number.
66-bit transmission with a 32-bit hopping portion and status information.
Selectable baud rate and automatic code-word completion.
A low-battery indicator can be transmitted to the receiver.
The registered package is 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm). Microchip identifies P as the 8-lead, 300-mil-body plastic DIP. Confirm pin-1 orientation, hole size and row spacing from its current package drawing.

The package registry lists /upload/package/8-DIP.jpg, but the local JPG is missing. The illustration must be supplied before publication.
Microchip's top-view PDIP/SOIC diagram assigns the HCS200 pins as follows:

Consult the data sheet for timing and electrical limits under the actual operating conditions.
HCS200-I/P has the same family and PDIP outline but selects the industrial temperature range. HCS200/SN changes the assembly footprint to a surface-mount SOIC. Other HCS encoders can change the security format or receiver learning behavior. Verify the full order code, crypt-key provisioning, pin functions and receiver compatibility before substitution.
No unverified internal substitute link is provided.
Microchip Technology identifies HCS200 as a KEELOQ code-hopping encoder. In its product identification system, P means an 8-lead 300-mil plastic DIP; the blank temperature field means 0°C to +70°C. Check current manufacturer change notices for production orders.
Encodes button commands for a compatible decoder.
Supplies changing control data to an external RF stage.
Supports unidirectional coded signaling.
Provides an encoder element for a learned receiver system.
Verify HCS200/P marking, tube label, date code and lot traceability. Protect programming keys, then test the programmed transmitter against the intended receiver and RF circuit.
No. P denotes an 8-lead through-hole DIP.
No. This blank option is commercial grade, 0°C to +70°C.
No. PWM supplies encoded data to external transmitter circuitry.
No. The registry path exists, but the local JPG is missing.
Use Microchip's HCS200 data sheet and programming specifications for schematic, footprint and system validation. Security depends on key handling and receiver design. Stock and price are time-sensitive procurement data maintained separately from this technical description.
