M5Stack was founded by Jimmy Lai in 2016 after he was driven to provide an ultimate solution when he saw the need for a way to bridge the gap between development and end product. He was inspired by his vision to create innovative products that accelerate development speed and enable industrial-level quality prototyping. Now, M5Stack is committed to providing an easy-to-develop and cost-effective Internet of Things (IoT) development platform at all stages. M5Stack provides modular, stackable product development tool kits based on the ESP32, the popular Wi-Fi SoC. The M5 ecosystem consists of main controllers called cores, Grove-compatible sensors called units, stackable modules, bases, and a variety of applications for STEM, makers, and Industrial IoT (IIoT).
